Speeding Horses Burnt Flames

Date: 4th May 2016 Category: ,

This piece is another I have chosen for its simplicity of form, but also its strength. Illustrated in three parts, it displays a snapshot of a horse as an image instantly recognisable to us all.

Firstly we see the horse in almost majestical, silver form; strong, confident and fast. It is there as it would be at the start of a race, ready to gallop into the distance with soul and prowess. You look at the horse and as quickly as you blink the horse is gone, captured only in the moment of the shot.

All that is left in the second image is the silhouette of the horse with a trail of flames blazing behind it, again demonstrating visually the power and speed of the horse in motion.

Finally the third image illustrates the final phase when all that is left is a disintegration of the final trail of flames. We all love to watch horses, whether it be racing, riding and so on and the image displayed over the spring / summer months also coincides with the Royal Ascot which is timely.

The image also gathers inspiration from the ‘Back to The Future’ film and the speed and power with which the Delorean travels through time to revisit the past in a trail of blazing flames.

The piece also relates to the Queen’s love of horses which is well documented as we all know Her Majesty has a passion for racing and riding horses.
